Jeannette McCullough, a Shamanic Practitioner and Educator, and Registered Nurse, has served in a variety of ways in all three of the previous Spirit Matters gatherings. During the last one, in 2010, she brought the World Drum to receive participants’ prayers, hopes and blessings for our beautiful earth and for all the precious life she sustains. In 2008, she traveled to Ireland, home of her ancestors, along with Eimear, Ed, Diane, Paulo, Renee, Njoki and others, as part of the Rekindling Indigenous Spirit journey there. Jeannette offers health teaching, supportive counseling and a range of shamanic approaches in her work with individuals and groups. She serves to foster community, health and empowerment through her work and in her life. Jeannette has experience in many diverse health care settings, and teaching Pharmacology, Psychology, Human Growth and Behaviour and Life Skills at a community college. Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman are her teachers, as are all her companions in nature and spirit. She also weaves the work of elder and eco-philosopher, Joanna Macy, into many of her offerings. Jeannette is a founding member and served for three years on the executive of the Complementary Therapies Nurses’ Interest Group, a special interest group of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, and she chairs the Spirituality In Health Care Network in Toronto. She is also a founding member of the international Society for Shamanic Practitioners. Jeannette considers herself a member of the Transformative Learning Center tribe. www.shamansong.ca
