Due to the broad interest our Gathering has drawn, we have placed an FAQ section that will answer many of the more common questions. If you have an inquiry that is not addressed here, please proceed to our contact us page.


Q: Can I volunteer my services and time at the Gathering in exchange for a waived or reduced registration fee?

A: Unfortunately, no. We have received many requests regarding this and, although we welcome the interest, we already have a vibrant and capable volunteer committee that consists of graduate students/affiliated members of the Transformative Learning Centre and University of Toronto. These students have helped plan for this Gathering from its early conception and are also familiar with the University services and community. This ‘home team’ will ensure a knowledable and responsive contribution to the event that should make all registrants feel at home, too.

Q: Are you still looking for Animators?

A: Not at this time. We are, however, open to suggestions for our  Circles. You may email suggestions to todd.will@utoronto.ca

Q: When will we find out about the exact location of the Gathering?

A: The Gathering is being held at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, 252 Bloor St. West in Toronto. You will receive an email – whatever email you had listed in your registration information – closer to the Gathering date which will confirm these details.

Q: How do I know you’ve received my registration?

A: If you have paid by PayPal and TicketLeap, you will receive email confirmation of the transaction in a day or two. Both PayPal and TicketLeap send automated confirmations of completed transactions. If you have mailed in a cheque with a registration form, we will also send a reply by email but the response time may be later due to any delays receiving snail mail. We try to cash cheques every two weeks or so, so please be patient when balancing your chequebook.

Q: Why do I need to register with Ticketleap?

A: Registration through a Ticketleap ‘account’ is registration with and for Spirit Matters: only we will keep that digital information with saves trees and time by doing away with paper registration.

Q: Are there any student or subsidised tickets?

A: No!! June 30th is the Early Bird deadline and those $200 spaces are filling fast! Be aware that this event is being organized on a volunteer and participatory non-profit basis; minimal fees are being charged in order to cover costs.
